Each gîte is unique, built in the local tradition using local stone and Sidobre granite.
Here, everything exudes the ancestral craftsmanship of granite: old porches, staircases, lintels sometimes topped with granite relieving arches, low stone walls and typical granite slats framing the gardens.
These deeply planted stones lined the paths and demarcated the old plots of land when the forest was cleared. You'll find them on your walks in the forest.
Les Tailhades lies on the southern edge of the Sidobre massif, formed by granite rising up from the depths of the earth. This fusion favoured the formation of metal ores. Today, the Sidobre is a great place for adventure, known for its strange geological shapes and beautiful forests. Set off in search of them, and listen to the local legends!
